non-traditional V-Day

I came up with this by working off of a sketch by Sketch Saturday and themed it around Polka Doodles challenge of a non-traditional Valentine to not include pink or red..  I used a couple of hearts brad to go along with my heart image off of HA cart and sentiment off of HD which allowed me to participate in Fussy and Fancy's heart challenge.  I used CB  to emboss as well as powders w/heat gun which qualifies me to enter Frosted Designs embossing challenge.. the end result is kind of funky..but I guess it works..??  TFL!

Distressed Valentine

Dying to use Tim Holtz Distressed Stamp set I got for x-mas.. combined with finding a most excellent pad of My Mind's Eye DP.. out came my 'Distressed Valentine'....

I used papers from the new stack in conjuction with a couple from a Valentine stack by g.c.d (both stacks are fabulous!!!)

I pulled a little color in around the edges using craft mat, distressed inks and the little color puller by TH... I inked the stamp with Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick on top of that..worked great as my color came out muted and matched well with the papers used. I then heat embossed with Ranger Holographic embossing powder.

I used SB for flowers/flourishes, WC for sentiment, doesn't really show in the picture but I used shimmer chalks around leaves of flourish and on embossed part of centerpiece(cuttlebug) also enhanced a few of the flowers with stickles, glitter pen and bling..TFL

SOUS 1/15 Challenge - Cartridges used AE, HA, GS, patterned paper by K&Company, Tim Holtz distress inks and masks (let me add a comment to the Tim Holtz masks... that is a love/hate relationship... love the look but find them trying to work with), cuttlebug to emboss some of the flourishes, shimmer chalk, glitter pen and (of course) stickles...I appreciate the inspiration that the challenges give me... I used a scrap double sided sheet of paper that I was given at a New Years Eve crop at our local scrapbooking store...worked perfectly for a Papertakeweekly card sketch...I used Graphically Speaking for frame and flourishes, cuttlebug to emboss, All Mixed Up for text, a touch of shimmer chalk and glitter pen...

Time 2 Decorate

I used a very busy sheet out of DCWV Holiday Stack..my best friend told me it wouldn't work...

GS & SB for title, JOTS, Noel and Paper Dolls for all the little stuff...some distress ink around the edge, lots of glitter pen and stickles.. after reviewing the finished project my friend decided it would work... what do you think?
