Cat Tales

Cat Tales was inspired by Copic Creation's Challenge 32 - 'A Summer Reading'... I was sort of at a loss as to what to use as an image.. had tinkered with this or that..and then turned to this quite large (4 1/2 x 5 1/2 in) Stamp Happens stamp that has been sitting peacefully on the shelf collecting dust  for a number of years now... it seemed perfect for the challenge and gave me quite the Copics coloring opportunity.. because of it's size I wasn't sure what to do with it.. and then I saw Unscripted Sketches # 67 and thought perhaps I could make that work... used the CB to add a little embossing texture, a couple of buttons, and a snippet of ribbon and here you have it... and here are the other challenges I'm excited to enter:
Penny's Paper - anything goes

Simply Patriotic

Although there is just over an hour left of this 4th of July... I had to post this simple patriotic card I made using a scrap sheet of paper that I picked up as a freebie in our local scrapbooking store...I hadn't planned on this card...the pieces just sort of jumped at me ...so I followed sketch 109 at Friday Sketchers and the pieces came together...I did a little trimming by hand and  a little 'Script' CB embossing and that's about it...oh, except for the stars in the corners...I used an unused cricut cut out of a star as a stencil using a parint brush with a little versa mark and some gold perfect pearls... hope you had a safe and happy one...

Stars and Stripes

Keeping it simple and done in under an hour for The Crazy Challenge, I followed a sketch by Pals Paper Arts (PPA48) and used Graphically Speaking cricut cartridge for the flag and star strip, I made the initial strip cut too small but was able to use the left-over cut out stars to pop up against my white CB Swiss Dot embossed (embossing challenges this week by All Sorts, The Crafty Pad and Caardvarks) background which gave me an extra dimension to use for the ABC Challenge and I went with a patriotic theme for our upcoming Independence Day which is challenged by The Cuttlebug Spot , Fantabulous Cricut 4th of July (using a star),Cupcake Inspirations 4th of July,  One Stitch At A Time Stars and Stripes, Stamptacular Sunday Stars and Stripes Challenge and  Little Red Wagon, I used a new 12x12 pad of red, white and blue paper and that goes into S2G's 'Something New' Challenge, and  for the 'Anything Goes' Challenge Digi Doodle Shop, Sew Many Challenges and Fresh Brewed Designs.

Mint Chocolate Frame

Challenging myself to do 'Anything But A Card' for SSDS Week 39 Challenge and Crafts and Me Challenge 4 and following Colour Challenge 41/Photo Inspiration (mint, chocolate, cream) for Incy Wincy , I altered this photo frame using some KandCo DP, flowers cut on GS cart and embossed w/CB Textile folder.... My Mother gave this glossy pine photo frame to me as it didn't match with her 'look' anymore...so I decided to change it up and gift it back to her... I'll be curious to see whether or not she realizes it's the same frame...and while it is a photo frame, I opted to put a mirror in the center instead..but when that gets old...change it out!

ColourQ Buddies Meet Get Sketchy

This week at Colour Q you are challenged to use these colors...but with a twist.

You must enter with a buddy. Well, that's easy, as my best friend, Kim E., from Kim's Kraft-e-Korner, is also my crafting buddy. We took on this challenge with an additional challenge...the sketch 36 at Get Sketchy.
It never ceases to amaze Kim and I how totally different our cards turn out to be. We had a lot of fun on this because we put a time limit on it, too...so these were kind of rush cards...

My card is layered with a turquoise/white polka dot...with a little curry on top of that and topped off with a sentiment out of Life's A Beach cart, couple of really big bling and some celery ribbon...
Thanks for stopping by and as always, your comments are appreciated.

Egg-celent Easter

Used Wild Card cart for frame and  basket out of Storybook...I was looking for something to act as a handle on a basket and cut out the letter 'S' accent/frame and discovered if you take the inside piece that cuts out and turn it around a bit...you end up with a lovely easter basket equipped with flourishes..I made the upper right grassy egg flourish using SB letter 'A' fancy/corner feature and a wood stamp.  Eggs were cut out using Nestibilities and embossed with CB... I also ran a stiff paint brush over VersaMark ink pad and then across a couple different Perfect Pearls colors and  brushed over eggs to add a very pretty shimmery look... additionally used some stickles and a little glitter pen... Thanks for looking!
